After-School Programs

Hebrew Academy sponsors a variety of special after-school programs.

Seasonal sports programs enhance the physical education program at the school and provide students an opportunity to engage in intramurals. Soccer games are scheduled with other local schools in the spring and fall. The basketball program participates in the CYO basketball league giving our teams ample opportunity for competitive play.

Hebrew Academy sponsors two choruses. Sababa! is for middle-schoolers and meets during a lunch period. Shir Chadash is for elementary school students and meets one afternoon a week in the fall and spring.

Parent Organization sponsors an annual musical production, this year in the fall, for which rehearsals begin shortly after school starts. The show gives our students the opportunity to experience a production from start to finish and is a highlight of the school year.

Olympics for the Visual Arts is a special regional arts group competition open to 7th and 8th graders as an extra-curricular project.  Hebrew Academy is a consistent winner in architectural designs.

The after-school day care program provides a safe and pleasant extended environment for our children in a space that is familiar and comfortable.  Children have the opportunity to study, socialize, and play.  Care is available at a very reasonable rate on an hourly basis from dismissal until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.  For more information, contact our after-school care coordinator, Stephen Justa at  sjusta@hacdalbany.com.
